Frequently Asked Questions

  1. How far in advance should we book? 
    As early as possible! Our calendar fills up quickly - we recommend reaching out at least 6 months to 1 year before your wedding date to check our availability. For milestone celebrations at least 4-6 weeks ahead, but the sooner the better. ​​

     

  2. What is the ordering process?

    TASTING & DESIGN
    To begin the design process, we recommend scheduling a tasting and consultation. I’m also happy to hop on a quick call first to get a feel for what you’re envisioning before committing to a tasting. Dessert Tastings are available for $50 and include one of each treat. Tastings are offered monthly based on our availability, with private in-studio appointments available upon request

    Petite Trio · $50
    Pre-selected flavors. Includes Lemon Raspberry, Signature Chocolate, and Triple Berry 

    Signature Tasting (6 flavors) · $95
    Includes the Petite Trio plus three additional flavors of your choice.

    +Additional cake flavors may be added for $15 each

    Dessert Tastings · $50
    Includes one of each treat, two per flavor. 

    BOOKING & INVESTMENT
    A $350 deposit is required and is collected as a non-refundable reservation fee. This fee confirms your date on our calendar and is applied toward your order. Once your cake design is finalized, a second milestone payment equal to 50% of the remaining balance will be due. The remaining balance is due three weeks before your event.

    CREATE & CELEBRATE
    The final balance as well as final guest count are due one month before your event. We bake and finish your cake fresh in our studio, then personally deliver and style it so all you have to do is enjoy — and save a slice or two for yourselves.

     

  3. How much will my cake cost? 
    Every Sweet Pea cake is custom, with pricing based on size, servings, and design complexity. Starting at $15+ per serving. Final pricing is determined by your cake size and design complexity. 

     

  4. Is there an order minimum? 
    Yes, our order minimums vary by season...

    Wedding / Peak Season
    (Typically, May-October)
    $1000 (not including delivery fees) 

    Off-Season
    (Typically, November-April, excluding holidays)
    $600 (not including delivery fees)  

    NOTE: For smaller celebrations below our custom minimum, we're currently preparing an online cake shop featuring beautifully pre-designed cakes for pickup. Please check back soon for details and availability. 

     

  5. Do you make gluten free or vegan cakes? 
    Any of our flavors can be made gluten-free for an additional fee. Vegan and dairy-free options are not available at this time as we continue to perfect our recipes to meet our standards of flavor and quality. 

     

  6. Do you offer nut-free desserts?
    While some of our cakes are made without nuts, our kitchen is not a nut-free facility. We take every precaution to minimize cross-contact, our cakes are prepared in a space where nuts are present, and trace amounts may occur. Please reach out with any allergy concerns prior to placing an order. 
     

  7. Do you offer ready-made desserts? 
    Not yet—but soon in the foreseeable future! We are currently working on an online shop featuring a curated selection of pre-designed cakes and dessert boxes available for order within for scheduled pickup. At this time, all of our cakes are custom, made-to-order, and available by appointment only. 

     

  8. Do you deliver? ​
    We offer delivery throughout Southern California and serve the following counties: Los Angeles, Orange, and Ventura (Thursday to Sunday), and Santa Barbara and Temecula (on weekends only). Delivery and Setup is $50 + $1.50 per round trip mile.​

     

  9. Do you have a retail shop? 
    No, we are a licensed and insured cottage bakery located in La Cañada Flintridge, CA in Los Angeles County. CFO Permit No. LA19F230046
